talking with matty

talking about going to the pool tomorrow:

Matty: There's a 30% chance of rain tomorrow

Me: That isn't bad.

Matty: If there was a 30% chance that there was a roofie in that wine, would you drink it?

Me: Probably.

paula is my favorite

what is wrong with her?
NY Magazine online did some very funny charts about American Idol that made me laugh- especially the Paula one. I really need to follow her crazy self on twitter.

Demetri Martin

I, too, have killed a cactus...or two.

5 good things from this weekend

1. Facebook chatting on Friday and Sunday.

2. Watching a ton of shows from last week on my dvr.

3. Going to the Durham Bulls game with Carrie. Eating cotton candy, funnel cakes and having some beers.

4. Sleeping late Saturday and Sunday. I was still sleepy from last weekend.

5. Dinner with Matty and Ajay on Sunday at Firebird's. Sometimes you just want a steak.

A nice quote for Monday morning

"For what it’s worth: it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be.

There’s no time limit.

You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing.

We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it.

And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before.

I hope you meet people with a different point of view.

I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."

-The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

i heart durham

Having lived in Durham almost all my life, I'm so excited that my city is improving and getting so many cool places to see and hang out at. I came across this really great little guide to Durham via Design Sponge. Yay Durham yay! I knew you could do it!!

goonies never say die

Goonies reunion!! This is one of my all-time favorite movies! It reminds me of being a kid and hanging out with my cousins and my brother.

5 good things from this weekend

1. Spending time with Mimi, Alex, Matty, Ajay and Jamie. It feels like the old days when we all first meet and hung out and went out almost everyday. Love them all!!

2. Alex getting his MBA!! I'm so proud and happy for him. I'm happy we got to have him here in NC for two years.

3. Spending Saturday with my Mom- going to the movies, shopping (we went a little crazy at Anthropologie) and lunch. We had such a fun time.

4. Getting to see my family and eat a yummy lunch on Mother's Day.

5. A long, funny and slightly odd Facebook message that included me saying "I would feel really bad if I squished you because I thought you were bug." This is a long story but it made laugh all weekend.

plum!

So I sort of love Plum Sykes. She's just so cool and fabulous. Seeing her cameo in the Sex and the City movie (during the Vogue wedding dress photo shoot) was one of my favorite things about the movie! I discovered she was part of this author's collection of braclets for charity. I would so love to have the one with her quote!

I read a post on this lovely blog about how she wanted to be a marine biologist when she was a kid. It seems like every kid (including me) wants to be a marine biologist at some point but they never do. Then I remembered that I knew a marine biologist. He was cute :)
