this article is SO right on! i was thinking the same things reading these books. they are entertaining but are in no way good role models for anyone.however...i am super excited for the next movie 'New Moon' coming out in November.

Thank goodness! I thought that I was the only one disturbed by Edward and Bella's dysfunctional relationship.
ReplyDeleteI get that Edward is a vampire but her reaction to him leaving was NOT healthy.
There are plenty of Edwards around (I dated one). They may not be vampires but they are just as controlling and manipulative. They isolate their girlfriends from everyone around and they smother them with their presence.
I haven't read the entire series yet but I hope that Meyers redeems herself by the end. There are too many young women reading these books believing that this is what love should be.
