After 26 YEARS! on tv, Reading Rainbow's last show was on last Friday. That makes me so sad. I loved this show so, so much when I was little and have such good memories of watching it.

i see this lovely place, Greystone Inn, everyday when I drive home. it's so, so pretty. this picture doesn't really do it justice.

this would be such an amazing place for a wedding! too bad i don't have a fiancé, a boyfriend or even a crush really but i won't let 'minor' details that bother me! i can still swoon and dream as i drive home from work.

Weekend Movie: The Time Traveler's Wife

Liked this one too. I read the book so of course I wanted to see how the movie would turn out. If you've read the book, then it's definitely worth seeing. It was kind of short but didn't leave out much of the book. Overall, good.

Weekend Movie: 500 Days of Summer

Loved, loved, loved it!
Very sweet and funny but not your normal 'rom-com', which was nice. it had a much more realistic story line. I would like to see it again. Zooey Deschanel is the best and her clothes are lovely. Joseph Gordon Levitt is also adorable.

if i owned a pizza place...

it might have to be just like this Ryan Adams themed pizza place in Greensboro- Sticks and Stones! this is my favorite thing i've heard all day! i MUST make the drive over to G'boro and check it out. Their take-out is called the "Come Pick Me Up Menu"- perfect.

Highlights from my conversation with dude calling from East Carolina trying to get me to buy a alumni directory...

Dude: Do you still live in Dur-ham?

Me: Durham, yes.

Dude: Can we add your email address?

Me: Sure...it's aprilc...

Dude: How do you spell that?

Me: C? Like the letter.

Dude: Oh.

Dude: The directory is two payments of $64.99. Can ECU count on you for this?

Me: Um, no. I have to go to a meeting. Thanks.

You can't make this stuff up.

10 (silly) things that make me happy

In an effort to get myself out of my cranky mood day, I remembered reading these 'things that make me happy lists' and started to think of my own over lunch today.

Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Emails from my mom

2. Listening to Coldplay and Ryan Adams

3. Comments/messages on Facebook

4. Being the only Duke fan when everyone else loves Carolina

5. Super silly chats during work

6. Buying new songs on itunes

7. Driving around singing along to my favorite songs

8. Big sunglasses

9. Painting my nails

10. Finding a great parking spot

p.s. shoe pictures also make me happy :)

and then there was vegas...

Vegas, Vegas, Vegas...

it was...kind of...well, it had it's moments both good and not so good.

the pictures on the other hand, turned out really good.

the good stuff I'll remember: the gorgeous hotel, fabulous pools, hot hot vegas sun, matching outfits, trekking to walgreen's, giggling with alex, seeing coach k (!), big group dinners with everyone, dancing in mia's 30th, the rad pool party, taking over the reserved table and not getting caught, matty wearing the 'blossom hat' and gloves, jose stealing my geek glasses, getting really tan, the drinks with about a pound of fruit in them, 9 am breakfasts with mia.

Last week...

So, so much happened...

Beginning with the Coldplay concert last Thursday. It. was. absolutely. amazing! This was the third time I've seen them and by far the best. I have to say that they keep get better and better each time.

They sounded fantastic! Lots and lots of energy, excellent light effects and all the songs that you love. If you ever get a chance to see them live, GO! You will NOT regret it, promise.

And if all of that wasn't enough...about midway through their set, the entire band came out on the lawn (where Carrie and I where sitting) and sang 3 songs!! Green Eyes, Death Will Never Conquer and Billie Jean- we were dy-ing over that one. They were probably 50 feet away from us. I have never seen a band do this before but if any band would, Coldplay would. They sang 4 songs when they were on Saturday Night Live- usually bands only sing 2.

Lovin' life and lovin' you', "This lost will be met with a hurricane of love", the soundtrack, the scene with Ryan Adams' 'Come Pick Me Up", the scene with 'Free Bird', the scrapbook and CD's thing, Susan Sarandon tap dancing and directed by Cameron Crowe!

Love it.

coldplay, then vegas

Thursday: Coldplay with my concert buddy, Carrie. this will be our 3rd show of the year. cannot wait!! they are AMAZING live, even from the lawn. in addition to concert, I'm super excited to add another t-shirt to my 09 collection.

Friday: off to Vegas for Miss Mia's birthday madness! it should be quite the crazy trip if the 07 trip taught me anything...i wouldn't be surprise if someone ended up with a tiger in their bathroom- a very nice bathroom at the Encore. this place looks like it is over-the-top amazing! thanks to Matt for finding us a great deal there. i will miss not having Court, Carrie and Aemart there. they will be the only ones missing.

i was a happy, happy gal watching the FINA swimming world championships this weekend.

oh how i've missed you mr. phelps.

even though he did finish second in one race, he came back.

this is why, if you are competing against michael phelps, you might not want to talk trash about him beforehand.
